Job summary

Eurofins Biopharma Product Testing in Dungarvan, Co Waterford, invites applications for a Team Leader to head the MDV team responsible for method development, verification, transfer and validation in the Biopharmaceutical department.

The successful candidate will direct all team activities, manage resources and schedules, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver timely customer reports while maintaining high standards of quality and documentation.

Qualifications

• Honours Degree in Biotechnology or bioanalytical subject.
• Minimum 5 years in GMP biologics lab.
• Method development and validation experience.
• 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership.
• Capable of coordinating, scheduling, and prioritising analytical work
• Strong organisational skills with meticulous documentation
• Proficiency in internal and external communication
• Commitment to quality assurance and customer service excellence
• Demonstrated ability to assess customer requirements and formulate technical solutions

Responsibilities

• Maintain liaison with Section Manager to ensure resources meet timelines.
• Manage online reporting on LIMS, scheduling work from initiation through to sign-off, and develop customer reports.
• Conduct analyses to meet customer deadlines.
• Review test methods for quotation purposes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Provide feedback on customer and organizational requirements.
• Address customer-related queries and coordinate with the team to resolve issues.
• Ensure documentation is authorised and filed accurately.
• Communicate with the team and ancillary groups for information transfer.
• Participate in routine regulatory and customer inspections.
• Oversee equipment maintenance and cost-effective repairs.
• Identify opportunities for quality and service improvement.

Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Team Leader to join our method development and validation (MDV) team within our Biopharmaceutical department in Dungarvan Co Waterford. This team works on the introduction of new methods within the biopharmaceutical team through method development, verification, transfer and validation activities.

Responsibilities

• Direct all members of the team, including work rotas, productivity, training and development, safety, quality, and documentation, to ensure the laboratory operates at maximum efficiency.
• Maintain close liaison with the Section Manager to ensure adequate resources are available to meet customer testing timelines.
• Manage online reporting on LIMS, scheduling work from initiation through to sign-off, and developing and authorising customer reports in a timely manner to consistently meet customer expectations.
• Conduct analysis as required to ensure customer deadlines are met.
• Review test methods for quotation purposes.
• Ensure that systems and procedures are maintained in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Provide regular feedback to all team members regarding customer and organisational requirements and changes.
• Address customer-related queries and coordinate with the team to resolve issues as necessary.
• Ensure all relevant documentation is authorised and filed accurately in accordance with company procedures.
• Communicate regularly with the team and ancillary groups to ensure effective information transfer throughout the organisation.
• Participate in routine regulatory and customer inspections.
• Ensure all analysts are trained and maintain comprehensive training records for all tests and additional training completed.
• Oversee equipment maintenance and ensure repairs are conducted in accordance with company procedures, with regard to timeliness, quality, and cost.
• Identify opportunities for quality and service improvement and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Honours Degree in Biotechnology or Bioanalytical related subject
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a GMP biologics laboratory
• Method development and validation experience required
• Minimum 2 years' supervisory or team leadership experience desirable.
• Demonstrated capability to coordinate, schedule, and prioritise analytical work
• Proven technical expertise and established leadership credentials
• Commitment to quality assurance and customer service excellence
• Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to accuracy and documentation
• Proficiency in internal and external communication
• Demonstrated ability to assess customer requirements and formulate appropriate technical solutions
