BIM Engineer: Mastering 3D Coordination & Data Workflows

Job summary

Mercury GmbH is seeking a BIM Engineer in Ballycoolin, Dublin to develop and manage BIM processes across multiple projects. You will coordinate models, run clash detection, manage COBie data, and produce GA drawings and BOMs.

The role requires strong BIM software skills, 3D CAD modelling, P&IDs knowledge, and advanced Excel/database usage, with a focus on QA/QC and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a BIM, CAD or Building Services Engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of BIM processes, model coordination and clash detection.
• Experience with 3D CAD modelling and federated models.
• Knowledge of P&IDs, point cloud data and model-based workflows.
• Experience producing coordinated drawings, isometrics and material take-offs.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and database tools.
• Understanding of QA/QC procedures and document control.

Responsibilities

• Support development, management, coordination and continuous improvement of Mercury’s BIM systems and processes.
• BIM software administration and licence management.
• Model QA/QC of fabrication packs and clash management.
• Produce and manage COBie sheets, GA drawings and BOMs.
• Develop and document BIM process flows and build procedures.
• Provide technical BIM support and deliver training.
• Collaborate with internal/external teams for coordinated project delivery.
• Travel to project sites in Ireland and internationally when required.
