Job summary

Blackrock Health Galway Clinic is seeking a Bed Manager to oversee bed resources and ensure safe patient placement, working 37 hours per week on site in Galway, Ireland.

The role involves coordinating admissions, bed control, daily KPI reporting, and liaising with A&E, ICU, and other departments to maintain high-quality patient care. Previous managerial experience and infection prevention knowledge are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Clinical background desirable but not essential.
• Previous managerial or administrative experience.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices.
• Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Computer skills including Excel, Word and Meditech.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate hospital reservations and bed control activities.
• Coordinate medical and surgical admissions to maximize bed resources.
• Daily scheduling of beds and communication to each ward.
• Prepare and review daily, monthly and annual reports and KPI analyses.
• Liaise with A&E, ICU and Cath lab on a daily basis.
• Maintain interface with hospital managers and Admissions Office to ensure policy compliance.
