Ballymascanlon Hotel & Golf Resort is seeking an experienced Bartender to join our team. The role involves serving bar guests promptly, managing beverage service at weddings and events, and maintaining knowledge of the bar menu and drinks content.

The successful candidate will excel in guest interaction, upselling, and upholding responsible service of alcohol policies, with flexible working hours including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

Previous experience working in a Food & Beverage environment i.e. hotel, restaurant, bar

Responsibilities

To serve bar guests their orders promptly and courteously
To serve beverages at weddings and other evening functions
To accurately record guest orders and beverage service
To ensure proper garnishing of drinks
To promote additional sales by up-selling in a professional and courteous manner
To liaise with the Bar Manager concerning set-ups and reservations
To adhere to the Responsible Service of Alcohol policy

The Ballymascanlon Hotel is a four-star property set on 130 acres of beautiful parkland, this impressive Victorian House forms the heart of this Hotel. It is one of the most remarkable historical estates in Ireland dating back to 833 A.D.

Main duties and responsibilities:

To serve bar guests their orders promptly and courteously
To serve beverages at the weddings at other evening functions
To accurately record guest orders and serves beverage orders
To ensure proper garnishing of drinks
To processes guest checks accurately
To ensure that the working area and station is stocked with “mise-en-place” and kept clean and tidy at all times
To maintain a thorough working knowledge of the bar menu, wine and beer list, and content of drinks to be able to advise guests on selection and promote additional sales accordingly
To promote additional sales by taking opportunities to up-sell in a manner that is professional and courteous
To liaise with the Bar Manager concerning set-ups and reservations
To adhere to the Responsible Service of Alcohol policy
Has full knowledge of alcohol and liquor policies and regulations, and complies fully with them

About the role

Qualifications:

Fluent English and excellent communication skills
Flexibility in working hours as role includes mornings/evenings & weekends, public holidays
Previous experience working in a Food & Beverage environment i.e. hotel, restaurant, bar
