Job summary

Inland Fisheries Ireland seeks a Civil Environmental Engineer (Engineer Grade 2) to join the Barrier Mitigation Division in Ireland. The role focuses on remediation planning, design and management of barrier works within the NBMP, ensuring ecological protection and regulatory compliance while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

Hybrid working is offered with 2 days remote and 3 days in the office, across Dublin region and other IFI offices.

Qualifications

• A recognised third-level qualification, NFQ Level 8 or equivalent, in Civil/Environmental/Structural Engineering.
• Experience in civil or environmental engineering roles with post-qualification track record.
• Current full clean driving licence (Category B) recognised in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruitment and training for a civil/environmental design team.
• Manage projects and assessments related to barrier mitigation.
• Review data from site assessments and reports for remediation planning.
• Evaluate environmental impacts of mitigation options.
• Prepare findings, costings and recommendations on remediation works.
• Plan, implement and supervise remediation schemes and related construction activities.
• Engage with procurement in line with IFI policies.
