Trim Castle Hotel is seeking a friendly and energetic Barista to join our front-of-house team. You will craft coffee beverages, greet guests, take orders, and provide recommendations in a fast-paced environment.

Training and development are available to help you excel in service excellence. In this role, you will maintain clean workstations, manage cash and POS transactions, and contribute to a positive guest experience.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Role:

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, including espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, and specialty beverages
• Ensure consistent quality in beverage preparation, following established recipes and standards
• Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, efficient service
• Take customer orders, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations
• Handle customer complaints or concerns with professionalism and resolve issues as needed
• Accurately handle cash transactions and operate the POS system
• Process customer payments, issue receipts, and provide correct change
• Stay informed about the coffee and tea offerings, as well as any additional items on the menu
• Educate customers about different coffee beans, brewing methods, and flavour profiles
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the coffee machine, grinder, and serving areas
• Regularly clean and sanitize utensils, equipment and surfaces according to health and safety standards
• Monitor and restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies as needed
• Keep track of inventory levels and report any shortages to management
• Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operations
• Assist with other tasks, such as food preparation or general cleaning, as required
• Suggest additional items or upsell products to enhance the customer experience
• Promote special promotions or new menu items
• Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper food & beverage handling and hygiene practices

Requirements for the role:

• Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer service role essential
• Friendly and approachable demeanour with a strong focus on customer satisfaction
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
• Barista training qualification
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
