About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Bar Supervisor to join our Food & Beverage team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional looking to take the next step in their career within a dynamic hotel environment.
As Bar Supervisor, you will support the Bar Manager and Food and Beverage Manager in the day-to-day operation of the bar, ensuring exceptional guest service, leading the team during shifts, and maintaining the highest standards of service, presentation, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the smooth operation of the bar during assigned shifts.
- Carry out all supervisory duties in line with agreed hotel standards and procedures.
- Lead, motivate, and support the bar team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Ensure the highest standards of customer care are maintained at all times.
- Maximise revenue opportunities through upselling and promoting beverages and special offers.
- Assist with the training and development of team members and maintain training records where required.
- Handle day-to-day guest queries, complaints, and service issues in a professional and efficient manner.
- Ensure opening, closing, and operating procedures are completed correctly.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and organisation throughout all bar areas.
- Support stock control procedures, including deliveries, storage, stock rotation, and waste minimisation.
- Ensure cash, vouchers, and all forms of payment are handled securely and accurately.
- Report any guest complaints, incidents, or operational concerns to senior management.
- Attend departmental meetings in the absence of the Bar Manager.
- Ensure compliance with Irish Licensing Laws, hotel policies, Health & Safety regulations, and HACCP requirements.
- Assist in maintaining a safe working environment and promptly report accidents, hazards, fire incidents, loss, or damage.
- Support the Bar Manager and Food and Beverage Manager in achieving departmental targets and operational objectives.
Requirements
- Ideally 1 experience in a supervisory role within a bar, restaurant, or hotel environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proven ability to supervise and motivate a team in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Good knowledge of cocktails, wines, spirits, and beers.
- Understanding of stock control and cash handling procedures.
- Knowledge of Irish Licensing Laws, HACCP, and Health & Safety regulations.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively manage guest concerns.
- A positive attitude with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
