Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Backend Engineer (Python) based in Ireland, working with a partner company to build scalable backend services for an AI-powered healthcare voice platform. You will own backend features end-to-end, from design through deployment, in a distributed European engineering team.

You’ll develop Python APIs, enhance AI workflows, integrate with healthcare systems, and ensure data privacy and reliability.

Qualifications

Experience building, shipping and maintaining backend services in production.
Strong Python skills and async HTTP API development (FastAPI or similar).
Relational database design and data modeling with PostgreSQL.
Experience integrating third-party services and background jobs/queues.
Solid software engineering practices: testing, code reviews, observability.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain Python-based backend services and APIs for patient enrollment, scheduling and follow-ups.
Enhance AI-powered voice workflows and ensure secure handling of patient data across languages.
Integrate with EHRs and clinical data platforms to inform conversations.
Build reliable distributed systems with robust error handling and retries.
Deploy containerized services to cloud environments and support incremental releases.
