Mechanical Engineer/ Maintenance Engineer role based in Galway, Ireland. Join a leading medical device company on a fully automated production line, focusing on installation, maintenance, and optimisation of high-speed automation systems.

The role is hands-on, involving troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and collaboration with Process Engineers to drive continuous improvement and meet production deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer/ technician in high-volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair high-speed automated assembly machines.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Assist in installation, setup and refurbishment of equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records.
• Communicate potential issues affecting capacity and quality to the team leader.
• Support Process Engineers with continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to efficiency projects through code upgrades and system improvements.
• Ensure targets and deadlines are met.
