Job summary

NIRAS, a specialist engineering consultancy, seeks a Controls Engineer (Automation) for a 12-month shift role in Ireland's Connacht region. You will support and maintain automated manufacturing equipment across the site, focusing on troubleshooting, fault finding, system optimisation and continuous improvement to keep equipment running efficiently.

Qualifications

• Degree or higher qualification or trade-qualified electrician, instrumentation or mechatronics with automation experience.
• 2–3 years’ automation or manufacturing experience.
• Experience with PLCs, robotics, SCADA and industrial control systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for automated manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose faults, troubleshoot issues and identify root causes.
• Support and maintain PLCs, robotics, SCADA and related control systems.
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering teams to minimise downtime.
