Job summary

AIR Sligo, part of the AIR Group, is seeking a driven Automation Equipment Engineer to join our team in Sligo. The role focuses on final stages of machine delivery, commissioning activity ownership, and serving as the technical interface across internal teams.

You will convert ambiguous issues into defined tasks, manage snag lists, support FAT/SAT, and travel domestically and internationally as required. A degree in engineering and 3–5 years of relevant automation experience are requested.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 3–5 years in automation or machine building.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of late assembly and post power-up phases.
• Act as primary interface between assembly, electrical, software, and design teams.
• Interface with the customer post power-up and manage issues lists and communications.
• Systematically convert unresolved issues into clearly defined tasks with owners.
• Identify, register and manage snag lists and technical issues through to closure.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities during commissioning to meet milestones.
• Engage early to understand machine design and technical requirements.
• Support FAT and SAT, including travel to customer sites as required.
• Document all changes and communicate to relevant teams.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Design to resolve challenges.
• Report to the Automation Equipment Engineer Lead on status.
