Job summary

St. Michael's House in Dublin is a community based organisation providing services for people with disabilities. Vacancies exist for Direct Support Worker (full-time, permanent) in Day Services to support Autism provision in the Glasnevin area.

The role involves assisting adults with intellectual disability, promoting independence, and working with families and other networks as outlined in individual plans. A driver’s licence is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Knowledge of HIQA regulations is required.

Responsibilities

• Support each person to communicate, exercise choice and autonomy.
• Contribute to and monitor outcomes in personal planning.
• Identify supports and work with families and other networks as per plans.
• Understand Autism-specific environments and Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
