Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is partnering with a prominent Irish provider of accountancy and advisory services to recruit an ambitious audit professional in Leinster. The role focuses on audit preparation, financial reporting, and leadership of junior staff across various client engagements.

You will mentor teams, ensure timely completion within budget, and drive technical excellence and client advisory insights. Hybrid working options are available in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Solid experience auditing Irish companies under local standards.
  • ACA/ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Strong business acumen to advise clients.

Responsibilities

  • Audit preparation and completion for client files from start to finish.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for client assignments.
  • Mentor junior staff and lead client engagements.
  • Identify non-compliance with standards and escalate appropriately.
  • Collaborate with team to deliver statutory audit services to diverse clients.
  • Develop and review high-quality audit planning and reporting deliverables.
  • Continuously develop skills through coaching and leading engagements.

About Your New Job
  • Audit Preparation and Completion: Manage client audit files and financial statements from inception to completion, ensuring high professional standards within budget and time constraints.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports as required by client assignments.
  • Training and Leadership: Mentor junior staff in all technical aspects of accounts preparation and auditing, leading them on client assignments.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Identify areas of non-compliance with auditing and accounting standards and report these to the engagement manager.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with a team to provide statutory external audit services to a diverse portfolio of clients in various sectors.
  • Audit Planning and Reporting: Develop and review high-quality audit planning and reporting deliverables and present results to the engagement manager.
  • Continuous Development: Enhance your own and the team’s technical skills through continuous coaching, mentoring, and leading your team on engagements.
What Skills You Need
  • Solid experience in auditing Irish companies.
  • Relevant degree and an ACA, ACCA, or other accounting or relevant qualification.
  • Business acumen and insight to be an effective business advisor to your clients.
  • Experience in managing and leading teams effectively.
  • Excellent report writing skills and experience in presenting to senior management teams.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently and provide guidance to others.
  • Experience of working to deadlines and delivering under pressure.
