Job summary

Stryker Ireland in Cork is seeking an Associate R&D Manager to lead a multifunctional engineering team developing Orthopaedic instruments for our Orthopaedic Instruments and Mako Robotic product lines. You will help shape 5–10 year portfolio plans in collaboration with marketing and mentor cross-functional staff.

Responsibilities include leading projects, driving budget and staffing, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in a dynamic medical device environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering or applicable technical field.
• 6+ years applicable experience, with direct people management experience preferred.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in a medical device environment.
• Ability to mentor in technical disciplines and communicate plans clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multifunctional engineering team to develop Orthopaedic instruments.
• Develop long-term portfolio plans (5–10 years) with marketing.
• Attract, develop, retain, and engage talent; drive on-time, high-quality results.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and document design controls.
