Job summary

Steering Point is seeking an Associate Director for its Corporate Finance team to lead day-to-day M&A transactions from initial meetings to closing, oversee complex modelling and due diligence, and prepare essential documents such as pitch books and valuation reports.

You will tailor client requirements, work with colleagues to ensure flawless execution, and help identify risks and opportunities while actively strengthening relationships to support origination.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in M&A in Ireland and/or London.
• Strong communication with key stakeholders.
• High level of commercial acumen and financial modelling ability.
• Experience presenting findings in client deliverables.
• Ability to identify issues and propose workable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee complex financial modelling, valuations and due diligence findings
• Direct the preparation and review of key documentation (pitch books, teasers, management presentations and valuation reports)
• Develop a thorough understanding of the client’s requirements, working with them to develop the best approach
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure that work is properly executed at all times
• Identify and anticipate risks that require escalation
• Play a key role in all origination efforts by identifying and analysing business development opportunities
• Communicate effectively internally, keeping relevant stakeholders informed of deal progress and risks
• Actively strengthen external relationships to broaden your network and contribute to origination efforts
• Actively mentor and develop more junior members of the team

Candidate profile:

• 5+ years’ experience in M&A in Ireland and/or London
• Ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders
• High level of commercial acumen
• Proficient in detailed financial and commercial analysis and the ability to identify potential areas of sensitivity
• Ability to identify key issues on assignments and suggest workable solutions
• Experience in presenting findings clearly in reports and other deliverables to clients
• Excellent communicator, both written and oral
• Strong team player
