Moore Ireland is seeking an Audit Associate Director to join the Dun Laoghaire Audit team, guiding engagements, budgets, and client relations. You will mentor staff and ensure high-quality audit work in line with professional standards.

Qualifications

  • At least 4+ years post qualification experience in auditing Irish companies.
  • “ACA, ACCA or other accounting qualification” is required.

  • Strong report writing and presentation skills.
  • Experience supervising assignments and managing client relationships.

Responsibilities

Job description

Moore is a leading Irish provider of accountancy and advisory services for smart, commercially ambitious enterprises seeking the highest standards in client service and expertise. We are currently seeking to recruit an Audit Associate Director to join our Audit team in Dun Laoghaire to support ongoing growth. This is an opportunity with excellent possibility for career progression, focusing on providing high-quality services to our diverse client base.

The duties of the Audit Associate Director:
  • Lead engagement planning, staff resourcing, and workflow management to ensure deadlines are achieved efficiently.
  • Manage engagement budgets, billing, recoverability, and cash collection targets to ensure profitability of assignments.
  • Support Partners in business development activities, including identifying opportunities for additional services and preparing proposals and tender submissions.
  • Lead, plan, review and finalise complex audit engagements to a high professional standard, within budget and time deadlines, and firm policies.
  • Provide technical oversight and quality review of audit files prepared by managers and audit teams, ensuring high standards of audit quality and risk management.
  • To identify areas of non-compliance with auditing and accounting standards, and to bring these to the attention of the team.
  • Review and approve statutory financial statements and other client deliverables in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Mentor, coach and develop managers, senior staff and trainees, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Conduct performance reviews and contribute to succession planning, training programmes, and staff development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with the firm's quality management procedures, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor emerging accounting, auditing, and regulatory developments and communicate relevant changes to staff and clients.
Demonstrable Experience and Qualifications Required:
  • You will have at least 4 plus years post qualification experience in auditing Irish companies.
  • Relevant degree and an ACA, ACCA, or other accounting or relevant qualification.
  • Business acumen and insight to be an effective business advisor to your clients.
  • Experience in managing and leading teams effectively.
  • Experience in presenting to senior management teams along with excellent report writing skills.
  • Experience in operational supervision of assignments and managing client relationships and expectations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and to provide guidance to others.
  • Experience of working to deadlines and delivering under pressure when required.
