Job summary

AbbVie in Dublin seeks an Associate Director to lead Aseptic Product Quality within the External & Product Quality Assurance Eye Care Global Team. The role provides quality leadership for due diligence with TPMs/CMOs, performs aseptic assessments, and advances best practices across the external manufacturing network.

You will drive continuous improvement, assess aseptic risks, collaborate with internal sites and cross-functional partners, and address significant quality issues to ensure product

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Science or related technical discipline required.
• Technical or analytical background for problem resolution with quality, product and/or engineering issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead aseptic strategies to ensure robust product quality.
• Conduct due diligence visits to external TPMs/CMOs as part of cross-functional teams.
• Perform hands-on assessments of aseptic manufacturing operations and controls; promote best practices.
• Provide technical leadership for aseptic investigations, including root cause analysis and CAPA.
• Monitor emerging technologies and regulatory expectations in aseptic manufacturing.
• Provide quality oversight of external manufacturing to ensure regulatory compliance and quality standards.
• Support risk-based decision-making for aseptic manufacturing and external quality operations.
• Foster collaboration with AbbVie sites, global aseptic teams, and cross-functional partners.
• Escalate and resolve significant aseptic quality issues affecting quality or supply.
• Promote a proactive quality culture, risk management, and continuous improvement.
