Purpose of the Role
The successful candidate will work across warehousing operations to support the warehouse manager in daily operations and cover the Manager’s holidays or absences.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Manage and pick orders post‑production.
- Train warehouse staff in the use of work status, network, and software applications.
- Dispatch all goods with customer specification.
- Perform vehicle temperature checks.
- Check goods according to pick list and amend any discrepancies.
- Amend sales dockets to match products checked in dispatch.
- Manage stock counts with the Stock Controller and resolve ongoing issues.
- Participate in periodic warehouse inventories.
- Support and engage in continuous improvement activities aligned with company strategy.
- Communicate effectively with peers and management about service level, operational and staffing concerns.
- Identify and address hazards within the warehouse and manage health & safety in the warehouse and wider area.
- Manage staff performance and discuss issues with the Warehouse Manager.
- Bring workload and scheduling problems to the attention of the Warehouse Manager.
- Cover Warehouse operations in the absence of the Warehouse Manager and may manage secondary sites periodically.
- Act as cover for goods in and out supervisors/managers and support auction material, stock counts, and return loads.
- Work closely with the manager to develop and modify warehouse policies and procedures.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely, including pallet build and wrapping.
- Manage team and individual performance.
- Perform facility and asset management as required.
