Job summary

Rent a Recruiter is assisting on an Active Travel scheme in Co. Meath with an Assistant Resident Engineer role from August 2026 to January 2027, with potential for extension. The position offers hands-on site experience on a live infrastructure project.

Key requirements include a Level 7/8 Civil Engineering degree or equivalent, completed internship or site placement, and strong communication skills. A full driving licence and SafePass are required; AutoCAD experience is desirable.

Are you a recent Civil Engineering graduate looking to take your first step into a career in construction and infrastructure? If you have completed a summer internship or gained some site experience, we want to hear from you.

As an Assistant Resident Engineer, you will gain hands-on experience in site supervision, inspection, reporting, monitoring and contract administration, working closely with an experienced Senior Resident Engineer.

We are looking for an Assistant Resident Engineer who has:

• A Level 7 or Level 8 degree in Civil Engineering
• Completed a construction or civil engineering internship, placement or similar site experience
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A positive, flexible and proactive approach
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A full driving licence and valid SafePass
• Good Microsoft Office skills; AutoCAD experience is desirable

Previous experience with Public Works Contracts or construction supervision is advantageous, but is not essential.
