AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Resident Engineer for an Active Travel scheme in Co. Meath, Ireland, to supervise site activities, liaise with clients and stakeholders and report on construction progress.

The role reports to a Senior Resident Engineer and is suited to candidates with a strong civil engineering background and a track record in roadworks. The position requires a Level 8 Civil Engineering degree, Chartered status or progression toward it, and full clean driving licence with SafePass.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years in civil engineering with 2 years in construction supervision/contract administration of Public Works contracts.
• Experience administering contracts using Public Works forms; valuing payments and assessing claims.
• Experience supervising roadworks including pavement, drainage, structures, ducting, signage and lighting.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication; strong record keeping and reporting of contractor progress.

Meath, from July/August, for approximately 6 months, with scope for future roles thereafter.The ideal candidate will have relevant years of experience in roads/transport infrastructure. The candidate should be self-motivated, enthusiastic, hardworking, flexible, willing to take responsibility and comfortable working with others in a team.## Your roleThe role will involve site-based supervision, contract administration, stakeholder and client liaison, reporting, monitoring and inspection of construction activities; in tandem with a Senior Resident Engineer.## About you**Desirable skills*** Level 8 Degree in Civil Engineering.* Chartered Engineer or working towards this.* A minimum of 4 years relevant experience in the civil engineering industry, including 2 years construction phase involvement in the supervision & administration of Public Works Contract for Civil Engineering Works.* Computer literate and with experience of relevant software (AutoCAD or similar) and Microsoft Office programmes.* Experience in administering contracts using the Public Works form of contracts; including processing of Valuations, and assessment of Claims.* Experience in supervising and inspecting the construction of roadworks including pavement, drainage, structures, ducting, signage, lighting, etc.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.* Experience in record keeping and reporting on Contractor’s progress.* Ability to work within a team and also work independently and under own initiative to achieve project goals.* Knowledge of current H&S regulations and best practices.* Full driving licence and a valid SafePass.**Personal qualities*** Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.* Flexible approach with ability to be able to multi-task and prioritise when necessary.* Positive outlook and approachable manner.* Well-motivated, able to work alone or as part of a team when required.## Rewards & benefitsExplore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive – at every stage of your life and your career.
