Job summary

Excel Recruitment is hiring an Assistant Manager for a busy Dublin South supermarket. You will support the Store Manager, lead the team and uphold top standards across the store, driving customer service and sales.

The role requires previous retail supervisory experience, strong leadership, and excellent organisational skills to manage daily operations, staff rostering, stock control, and compliance with food safety and health & safety policies.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Assistant Manager or supervisor in supermarket/grocery retail.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Good commercial awareness including stock, margins and costs.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Customer-focused hands-on management style.

Responsibilities

• Support Store Manager with day-to-day supermarket operations.
• Lead and develop store team to deliver high customer service.
• Monitor sales, stock availability, merchandising and department standards.
• Assist with staff rostering, training and performance management.
• Support stock control, ordering, waste management and cost control.
• Ensure compliance with procedures, food safety, health & safety, cash handling and security.
