The company’s innovative solutions help corporations, financial institutions, financial advisors, and affluent families create and manage wealth. SEI is a people focused organization which encourages and recognizes employee development as being a critical component in the provision of excellent client service. An open, collaborative and detail oriented environment underpins this business objective.

The Assistant Manager, Loan Operations supports the Manager in the day-to-day leadership and oversight of the Loan Operations function. The role is accountable for consistent delivery across private credit and syndicated loan activities, including loan set-up, lifecycle-event processing, reconciliations, exception management, client deliverables and operational controls.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical loan-operations knowledge with practical people leadership. They will act as an escalation point for complex activity, coordinate priorities across the team, and help improve processes, controls, automation and service quality as the private credit operating model evolves.

What You’ll Do
  • Oversee daily workflows, work allocation and completion of agreed client and team deliverables, ensuring deadlines, service standards and control requirements are met.
  • Support the Manager with resource planning, capacity management, cross-training and operational coverage across the Loan Operations function.
  • Review and provide escalation support for complex loan lifecycle events, including drawdowns, paydowns, interest payments, rate resets, rollovers, Payment-in-Kind events, restructures, reorganisations and non-pro-rata activity.
  • Oversee the establishment and maintenance of loan asset, facility and contract data in Geneva and related platforms, ensuring accuracy of key identifiers, rates, dates, funded and unfunded balances, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with investment managers, agent banks, vendors, Fund Accounting, Reconciliations, Payments and relationship teams to resolve queries, breaks and data-quality issues promptly.
  • Monitor exceptions and aged items, ensure root causes and corrective actions are documented, and elevate material risks or service impacts appropriately.
  • Perform or evidence quality reviews of high-risk and non-standard activity, with clear audit trails and adherence to documented procedures and segregation-of-duties requirements.
  • Maintain and enhance operational procedures, checklists, control evidence, management information and client reporting.
  • Contribute to onboarding, conversions and change initiatives, including requirements definition, testing, implementation and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve straight-through processing, reporting and control effectiveness through workflow redesign, automation and better use of data.
  • Coach, mentor and develop supervisors, senior analysts and analysts; provide timely feedback, technical guidance and structured training.
  • Act as deputy for the Manager when required and represent Loan Operations in client, governance, project and cross-functional forums.
What You Bring To The Table
  • Significant experience in fund administration, investment operations or loan servicing, with strong exposure to private credit and/or syndicated loans.
  • Previous experience leading people or workflows in a supervisory, team-lead or assistant-manager capacity.
  • Practical knowledge of loan structures and lifecycle events, including funded and unfunded commitments, interest and fee calculations, PIK, restructures, rollovers and settlement-related activity.
  • Experience using Geneva and loan-processing platforms such as WSO, or comparable portfolio accounting and loan administration systems.
  • Strong understanding of operational controls, reconciliations, exception management, audit evidence and client service delivery.
  • Confidence working with agent notices, credit agreements, funding memoranda, assignment documentation and other loan records.
  • Strong Excel capability. Experience with Power BI, Alteryx, workflow tools or automation is desirable.
  • Third-level qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
Attributes We Value
  • Clear and confident communicator who can adapt messages for clients, senior stakeholders and operational teams.
  • Organised and delivery-focused, with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong analytical judgement and attention to detail, particularly when reviewing complex or non-standard activity.
  • Ownership mindset with the confidence to challenge, elevate and drive issues through to resolution.
  • Collaborative leadership style that supports accountability, knowledge-sharing and continuous development.
  • Curiosity about market developments, technology and opportunities to improve the operating model.
  • Calm, flexible and solutions-oriented approach to change and operational pressure.
