Job summary

The Red Carnation Hotel Collection is seeking an Assistant Estate Maintenance Manager for our luxury hotel in Cong, Co. Mayo.

This full-time, on-site role works closely with the Estate Maintenance Manager to maintain the hotel’s buildings, grounds and facilities to the highest standards and to support guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate has proven maintenance or facilities experience in luxury hospitality, strong electrical or mechanical know-how, and a hands-on, customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a maintenance or facilities role in luxury hospitality.
• Strong technical expertise (electrical/mechanical) and hands-on approach.
• Able to respond to call-outs and adapt to hotel operations.
• Relevant trade qualification or certification desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Team player with strong communication and customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Estate Maintenance Manager in maintaining all hotel areas to the highest standards.
• Support daily maintenance operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to standards.
• Supervise and assist the maintenance team, providing guidance as needed.
• Carry out repairs and preventative maintenance across the property.
• Assist in monitoring budgets and controlling costs.
• Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure quality and safety.
• Support Health & Safety policies and environmental compliance.
• Coordinate maintenance supplies and inventory.
• Check fire safety equipment and emergency lighting for issues.
• Plan and schedule daily, weekly, and long-term activities.
• Collaborate with Management on refurbishment projects and upgrades.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting.
