Job summary

Barden is assisting a client in Dublin City Centre to recruit an Assistant Accountant. The role goes beyond a traditional accounts position, with ownership across transactional finance, reconciliations, month-end, and reporting.

Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, you will collaborate with Finance and operational teams and have clear progression pathways toward Financial Accountant.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified ACCA or ACA, currently studying.
• At least two years' experience across AP, AR, reconciliations, and general ledger.
• Strong Excel skills; Sage experience is a plus.
• Hospitality or multi-entity experience is an advantage, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and keep both running smoothly.
• Manage credit control, actively monitoring and collecting debtor balances.
• Look after customer deposits and ensure they are accurately reconciled and reported.
• Prepare bank reconciliations across multiple entities and accounts, plus general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Play a key part in month-end close, help prepare management information and financial reports, and meet deadlines.
• Act as a trusted point of contact for finance queries from internal teams, customers, and suppliers.

Barden is delighted to partner with a client of ours in Dublin City Centre as they look to hire an Assistant Accountant. This role goes beyond a traditional accounts position, giving ownership across transactional finance, reconciliations, month-end, and reporting.
