Job summary

Goldman Sachs in Ireland is seeking an experienced risk professional to lead our Business Risk and Controls efforts within the Savings business, ensuring a robust risk framework and effective control testing.

You will collaborate with 2nd/3rd line teams, develop risk strategies, and guide leadership on controls, training, and incident management to maintain regulatory compliance. The role includes managing a small team and delivering monthly risk dashboards across the business.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in risk management and control testing, ideally operating in the 1st line.
• In-depth understanding of Operational Risk within a regulated environment.
• Degree in Finance or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Business Risk and Controls efforts, ensuring a robust risk management framework.
• Manage risk cadence across the Savings business and ensure risks stay within appetite.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and authority levels across teams.
• Develop strategies to manage Regulatory and Operational Risk in collaboration with second and third line.
• Provide direction to leadership to ensure key controls are in place for risk management.
• Lead a small team and drive the risk strategy with timely activities under the framework.
• Support monthly control testing and identify gaps in new or emerging risks.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and quantify risks affecting the team and wider business.
• Collaborate with global Risk teams to embed appetite into policies and controls.
• Conduct audits of policy and compliance, and implement corrective actions with teams.
• Design and deliver risk training materials across teams.
• Complete regular Risk Control Self Assessments for the savings business.
• Provide monthly Risk and Compliance dashboards and control testing reports.
• Work with teams to ensure incident management and business continuity plans are understood.
