Job summary

Hannon Logistics in Ireland/United Kingdom (Travel required) is seeking an Artic Flat Trailer Driver to safely and efficiently transport steel and flatbed cargo across Ireland and the United Kingdom.

You will plan routes, ensure loads are secured, comply with tachograph rules, and maintain vehicle checks while delivering professional service at all points of contact with customers and management.

Qualifications

• CE driving licence and CPC required.
• Experience driving articulated flatbed trailers.
• Strong knowledge of load restraint regulations and safety.

Job Purpose

The Artic Flat Trailer Driver will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of steel and other flatbed cargo, ensuring full compliance with road transport legislation and company safety standards. This role requires professionalism, strong load security knowledge, and a commitment to high service standards.

Duties And Responsibilities

Transport Operations

• Operate articulated (CE) vehicles with flatbed trailers.
• Transport steel and other flatbed cargo safely and efficiently.
• Plan and follow assigned delivery routes across Ireland and the UK.
• Ensure loads are secured correctly in line with load restraint regulations.

Loading & Safety

• Safely load and unload materials where required.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of load restraint techniques.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
• Comply with driver hours, tachograph regulations, and all transport legislation.

Customer Service & Communication

• Provide professional and courteous service at all delivery and collection points.
• Complete delivery paperwork accurately and on time.
• Report delays, issues, or incidents to management promptly.

Essential

Knowledge, skills and experience required

• Valid CE Driving Licence.
• CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
• Digital Tachograph Card.
• Experience driving articulated flatbed trailers.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Desirable

• Experience transporting steel or heavy flatbed cargo.
• Strong understanding of load securing regulations.
• Experience operating in cross-border transport environments.
