Sigmar Recruitment is representing a client seeking an Area General Manager / Regional Manager to lead a portfolio of manufacturing, facilities management and contract operations across Cork and the Munster region.

You will manage a team of 4–7, build strong client relationships, and take overall responsibility for operational and financial performance. This is a senior, client-facing role with a focus on service delivery and growth.

Qualifications

• Senior management experience within facilities management, hard services or contract management.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage budgets and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of ~4–7 people including contract/operational managers.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior client contacts and ensure high client satisfaction.
• Oversee operational and financial performance of the contract portfolio and deliver commitments.
• Identify opportunities to improve contract performance, profitability, and additional services.
• Ensure staffing structures are in place and teams are trained, supported and developed.
• Lead performance reviews, succession planning and development initiatives.
• Ensure health & safety, statutory, contractual and company requirements are met and reviewed.
• Support new business opportunities, proposals and mobilisation of new contracts.

About Your New Job

As the Area General Manager / Regional Manager, you will provide senior leadership across a portfolio of manufacturing, facilities management and contract operations in Cork and the Munster region.

You will:

• Lead, manage and develop a team of approximately 4–7 people, including contract and operational managers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior client contacts, acting as a trusted point of contact and ensuring consistently high levels of client satisfaction.
• Take overall responsibility for the operational and financial performance of your contract portfolio, ensuring commitments are delivered and exceeded.
• Identify opportunities to improve contract performance, increase profitability, develop additional services and support contract retention and growth.
• Ensure appropriate staffing structures are in place and that teams are fully competent, supported and developed.
• Lead performance reviews, succession planning, training and development initiatives across the team.
• Ensure all health and safety, statutory, contractual and company requirements are fully implemented and regularly reviewed.
• Support new business opportunities, proposals, presentations and the mobilisation of new contracts where required.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and operational teams to ensure a consistent, collaborative approach to service delivery.

This is a senior, highly visible and very client-facing position. You will spend four days per week focused on the role across the Cork/Munster region, working closely with clients, teams and operational stakeholders.

What Skills You Need

• Significant senior management experience within facilities management, hard services, technical services, manufacturing and contract management.
• A proven track record at Contract Manager, Account Manager, Regional Manager or equivalent level.
• Experience managing and developing a team of approximately 4–7 people.
• Strong client relationship management skills, with the ability to build trust and influence senior decision-makers.
• Demonstrable experience managing operational performance, budgets, profitability and contractual commitments.
• Excellent understanding of health and safety legislation and operational compliance.
• Strong influencing, negotiation, communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• A confident, organised and commercially minded approach, with the ability to balance strategic planning with hands‑on delivery.
