Job summary

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals in Raheen, Limerick, invites applicants to join an Electrical Instrumentation Apprenticeship within the Technical Operations team. The apprentice will work under expert mentorship, gaining hands-on experience across electrical, instrumentation and calibration tasks on a leading biopharmaceutical site.

Training follows the SOLAS programme, with focus on installing and testing PLCs, PAT testing, and complying with cGMP and EH&S standards. Hourly rate in Year 1 is €14.15.

Qualifications

• Leaving Certificate including maths and a science or engineering subject.
• Apprenticeship training programme curriculum with SOLAS alignment.
• Electrical/instrumentation/calibration support experience or training.

Responsibilities

• Complete all training, on- and off-site as per SOLAS curriculum.
• Provide Electrical/Instrumentation/Calibration support to operations teams.
• Install, test and maintain electrical systems and PLCs, PAT testing.
• Calibrate instrumentation and perform maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP and site EH&S policies.

Job description

The Apprenticeship programme is crafted to provide apprentices with the required knowledge, skills, and competence to perform as a qualified craftsperson. Under the mentorship of expert technicians, the Apprentice is primarily responsible for providing a support service to the site as part of the Technical Operations team specializing in Electrical and Calibration activities.

What you’ll do:

• Completing all training, both on and off site phases as per SOLAS Electrical Instrumentation Apprenticeship training programme curriculum
• Providing Electrical/ Instrumentation/Calibration support to the Technical Operations, Quality Assurance, Engineering and Operations teams or any other area as the need arises
• Being responsible for installing, testing and solving site electrical systems, PLC’s (Programmable Logic Controllers), PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) and carrying out assigned electrical duties
• Completing both scheduled and unscheduled Electrical and Calibration maintenance activities
• Working on automated control systems and with low voltage systems
• Loop checking, tuning, troubleshooting and start-up of instrumentation
• Calibrating of various types of instrumentation including temperature, pressure, level, flow and analytical instruments or others as the need arises
• Aligning with site Environmental, Health and Safety policies and striving to maintain an accident free environment
• Ensuring documentation of maintenance activities to current GxP standards both in paper based records and the computerized maintenance system
• Maintaining the physical condition and environment of all areas
• Following current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs)
