Job summary

Activ8 Solar Energies is seeking an Apprentice Electrician to join their team and support the installation and commissioning of domestic Solar PV systems. The role is based at four locations—Carrickmacross, Naas, Cashel or Ballinasloe—and offers a full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary plus pension, healthcare, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Keen interest in electrical work and technology.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
• Ability to follow technical instructions and work well in a team.
• Physically capable of manual tasks and working at heights or in confined spaces.
• Strong work ethic, punctuality and willingness to learn.
• Prior exposure to electrical or construction work is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation and commissioning of solar panels and electrical components per Safe Electric specs and SEAI code.
• Prepare cables for power supply for solar systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues in solar systems.
• Provide technical assistance to customers regarding their solar systems.
• Work with the team to ensure projects are completed on time.
• Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.

The Opportunity

As a n a pprentice Electrician you will work and train alongside experienced electricians, gaining practical experience while completing the electrical apprenticeship programme.

• Must be eligible for registration with SOLAS as an Electrical Apprentice.

• Physically capable of performing manual tasks and working at heights or in confined spaces.
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and willingness to learn.
• Prior exposure to electrical or construction work would be advantageous (summer work or work experience)
