Job summary

European Tech Recruit in Cork is seeking an Android Engineer to join the Sensors team, designing, developing, and testing Android apps for sensor data collection and demonstrations.

Responsibilities include desktop tool development for Windows and Linux, interacting with Android devices, and collaborating globally to commercialize sensor features. Strong English and cross-platform skills are required.

Qualifications

• Android SDK development with production-quality apps.
• Strong Java or Kotlin OO programming skills.
• C++ and Python for system-level tools.
• Experience with Git and GitHub workflows.
• Excellent written/spoken English.
• Ability to prototype quickly for demos and trials.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Familiarity with Wear OS and XR.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test Android apps for sensor data collection.
• Design and test cross-platform desktop tools interacting with Android devices.
• Develop Java-based software components following standard patterns.
• Develop software on prototype platforms including wearables and smart glasses.
• Collaborate with global teams to support sensor algorithms.
• Contribute to end-to-end data pipelines and optimize data workflows.
• Support field data collection campaigns and demos.
