Job summary

GCS is hiring a permanent AI Engineer to design, build and run AI-powered applications and data-driven solutions from Co Westmeath, Ireland. The role blends software, data engineering and applied AI to automate work and improve decision-making.

You will work on scalable, production-ready systems using LLMs, RAG and modern AI frameworks, turning proprietary data into automated insights and actions while adhering to security and governance standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in software engineering, data engineering or AI/ML development.
• Strong Python and hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs with AI frameworks.
• Experience with MCP, RAG, vector databases, embeddings and prompts.
• Exposure to Azure AI, Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of AI security, governance and privacy in regulated contexts.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain AI agents and workflows for automated data processing.
• Develop LLM-powered applications and optimise prompts, context management and cost.
• Create RAG solutions with vector databases and data pipelines.
• Connect AI systems to internal data via MCP and APIs securely.
• Own AI features end-to-end, including testing, monitoring and rollback.
