Job summary

Cpl Group in Ireland is seeking Senior AI Engineers to design and build AI-powered services and agentic workflows using Java and Python. You will drive architecture, ensure scalability, and deliver production-grade solutions in a hybrid Dublin work environment.

The role focuses on Generative AI, LLMs, and cloud-native data processing with Databricks and Spark, collaborating with cross-functional teams while mentoring engineers and upholding high engineering standards.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience in agile environments.
• Experience designing distributed systems, microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native apps.
• Strong Java/Spring Boot and TypeScript/React experience.
• Experience with Python, Databricks, Spark, or PySpark for data pipelines and analytics.
• Experience building or supporting cloud-native apps on AWS/Azure with CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes, observability.

Responsibilities

• Lead team-level system design including API contracts, data flows, and nonfunctional requirements like scalability and security.
• Partner with engineers/architects to align with platform architecture and modernization goals.
• Develop and optimize data-intensive applications using Databricks, Spark, and related technologies.
• Develop and deploy AI-powered products and agentic workflows with LLMs and tool-calling patterns.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code quality, reviews, and coaching.
• Drive performance improvements, observability, testing, and production readiness.
