Job summary

Kids Inc. in Carrigaline, Ireland, is seeking a Part-Time Special Needs Assistant (SNA) to join our Afterschool services at St Marys NS for the 2026/2027 term. You will provide one-to-one support to a child with additional needs, helping them participate in afterschool activities and complete homework.

This role offers €15.75 per hour with a guaranteed minimum of 10 hours per week, typically 20–25 hours. Garda Vetting and references are required; driving licence is an advantage but not

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children, preferably with additional needs.
• Kind, patient and enthusiastic approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting children and helping them reach their potential.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Driving licence is an advantage but not essential.
• Willingness to complete Garda Vetting and reference checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support for a child throughout the Afterschool programme.
• Encourage positive communication, social interaction, and independence.
• Support the child's emotional wellbeing and help them express their needs.
• Assist with homework and daily activities as required.
• Help the child participate in games, creative activities, and outdoor play.
• Work closely with colleagues to provide a safe, inclusive environment.
• Promote the child's health, safety and wellbeing at all times.
