Job summary

Youth Work Ireland North Connaught is seeking an Afterschool Childcare Assistant for The Catacombs project in Sligo. The role is part-time (19.5 hrs/week, Monday to Friday, 1:00pm–6:00pm) and includes supporting staff with activities, homework, and child supervision.

Eligibility requires over 21 and receipt of a social welfare payment for 12 consecutive months. Training in First Aid, Manual Handling and Safeguarding Trust may be provided. Email [e-mail] to apply.

Qualifications

• Applicant must be over 21 years of age and in receipt of a social welfare payment for 12 consecutive months.
• Part-time role with 19.5 hours per week (Mon–Fri, 1:00pm–6:00pm).
• Willingness to participate in training such as First Aid, Manual Handling and Safeguarding Trust.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team in day-to-day running of the Catacombs/Cosy Cats Afterschool Programme.
• Assist childcare staff with small groups and homework supervision.
• Assist with walking bus and supervise children during activities and meals.
