Job summary

Sherpa Kids Ireland is seeking a Programme Lead to manage and lead a team delivering After School and Holiday Club programmes at participating schools. The role involves hands-on interaction with children, coordination with families, and daily activity oversight.

Ideal applicants will have childcare qualifications (Fetac Level 5 or equivalent), experience with school-aged children, and the ability to communicate effectively in English. Garda vetting and valid work permissions are required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
• Childcare qualification Fetac Level 5 or equivalent.
• Experience working with school aged children (minimum 1–2 years).
• Garda vetting is essential (conducted after interview).
• Work Permit/VISA essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team to deliver after-school and holiday programmes.
• Oversee day-to-day activities and ensure engaging, structured activities.
• Interact with children, families and staff daily to support needs.
• Maintain energy and enthusiasm while working with children.
• Coordinate and supervise administrative duties (approx. 2 hours weekly).

Job Description

Programme Lead must have experience in managing and leading a team

Own car required for programme lead

Maintain the day-to–day activities

Interacting with the children, their families and other staff members each day.

Lots of energy and enthusiasm to work with children.

Experience working with school aged children is preferred (Minimum 2 year)

Proficiency in technology and software (Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.).

Experience working with School Aged children (Minimum 1 Year)

Childcare qualification Fetac Level 5 of equivalent

Basic knowledge of child development

Proficiency in English, both verbal and written

Willing to learn basic Irish to support communication within the service.

Garda vetting is essential (completed by us after interview stage).

Work Permit/ VISA essential

At least 2 written references checks are required before starting

Monday - Friday term time 2.40-6.00pm

Holiday care non term time 8.30-5.30

Knowledge of Irish language preferable

2 hours weekly for administrative duties
