Job summary

TerraGlen Residential Care Services in Drogheda, Co. Louth, invites applications for an Aftercare Manager to oversee the day-to-day management and development of the aftercare service.

You will drive a person-centred transition plan for young people leaving residential care and moving toward adulthood and independent living. In this role you will supervise staff, coordinate accommodation and education/employment supports, and collaborate with multi-agency partners to ensure consistent,

Qualifications

• A recognised Social Care/Social Work qualification, normally Level 7 or above.
• Current CORU registration or evidence of eligibility/registration.
• Additional management or youth work qualifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management of the aftercare service.
• Ensure a planned, consistent and individualised service for transition to adulthood.
• Supervise and develop staff in the aftercare team.
• Coordinate accommodation and transition planning for young people.
• Provide Education, Training and Employment supports for young people.
• Promote financial capability and financial education for young people.
• Uphold safeguarding and child protection standards.
• Ensure quality assurance, compliance and records management.
• Foster strong partnership working with external agencies.
• Lead service development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Purpose

The Aftercare Manager will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management, development, quality assurance and oversight of the aftercare service.

The post holder will ensure that young people receive a planned, consistent and individualised service that supports their transition from residential care towards adulthood and independent living.

What You’ll Need

Qualifications Requirements

A recognised Social Care/Social Work or relevant professional qualification, normally at Level 7 or above on the National Framework of Qualifications or an equivalent recognised qualification.

Where applicable, current registration with the relevant CORU registration board or evidence of eligibility/application for registration.

Additional management, leadership, youth work, social care or related qualifications would be advantageous.

Experience Requirements

• Significant experience working with young people in care or care-experienced young people.
• Experience in children's residential care, aftercare, leaving-care or a closely related service.
• Experience in a management or senior leadership role.
• Experience of supervising and developing staff.
• Experience of safeguarding and child protection.
• Experience of multi-agency working.

Vetting Requirement

• Successful candidates will be subject to Garda Vetting through Tusla and the National Vetting Bureau
