Job summary

Children’s Health Ireland is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing for a directorate role in Dublin. The successful candidate will lead and co-ordinate the nursing/midwifery service within an assigned Directorate, ensuring high standards of care and staff development.

The role may involve working across service areas as directorates are reconfigured. Applicants must be registered as a Children’s Nurse with NMBI and have 7 years post-registration nursing experience plus 3 years in

Qualifications

• Registered as a Children’s Nurse on the Division/s of the Register of Nurses and Midwives, maintained by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or entitled to be registered.
• Have 7 years post registration nursing experience and 3 years’ experience in clinical practice management, practice development, education or quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and co-ordinate the development and delivery of the nursing/midwifery service within an assigned Directorate.
• Manage and control the nursing service within the budgetary allocation.
• May be required to work in any service area within the vicinity as the need arises and support reconfiguration of Directorates across sites.
