Job summary

RecruitNet International Ltd is inviting applications for Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) for a respected nursing home in County Mayo. You will support the Director of Nursing and provide clinical leadership to ensure high-quality resident care.

Lead staff, drive audits and quality initiatives, and ensure regulatory compliance with HIQA standards. RGN with NMBI registration and 3–5 years in a senior nursing role are required, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active NMBI registration.
• 3–5 years’ senior nursing experience in a nursing home.
• Management or supervisory experience desirable.
• Strong knowledge of HIQA standards and Irish nursing home regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational abilities.
• Commitment to high-quality care for older persons.

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Nursing in operational and clinical management of the nursing home.
• Provide clinical leadership and model best practice.
• Ensure HIQA-compliant resident care and regulatory compliance.
• Supervise and support nursing and healthcare staff to maintain clinical excellence.
• Contribute to audits, risk management and continuous quality improvement.
• Participate in staff training, mentorship, supervision and performance management.
• Assist with roster planning, staffing coordination and resource allocation.
• Act as Person in Charge in the Director’s absence to ensure safe service delivery.
