Job summary

CareChoice is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing for Newtownpark House in South Dublin. On-site role with a focus on delivering high standards of resident care and leading a team of nurses and care staff.

You will ensure HIQA compliance, drive quality improvements, manage staffing and budgets, and coordinate with doctors and therapists. A third-level management qualification and a Registered General Nurse license are required. Excellent rate of pay and development opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Have not less than 3 years' experience nursing older persons in the last 6 years.
• Have a minimum of 7 years post registration experience.
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and regulatory inspection activity for residential care centres.
• Third-level qualification in management.
• Ability to manage workload effectively with flexibility.
• Demonstrate ability to embrace change and continuous improvement.
• Ability to influence others and build constructive relationships.
• Promote quality assurance culture in the clinical area with KPIs.
• Be a Registered General Nurse.
• Be available to work flexible hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in day-to-day management of the nursing home and maintain high standards of care.
• Supervise and mentor nursing staff with guidance and training.
• Ensure HIQA standards and regulations compliance.
• Manage staffing needs including recruitment, scheduling, and performance management.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives including audits and reviews.
• Coordinate resident care plans with multidisciplinary teams.
• Handle complex clinical cases and provide expert advice.
• Monitor infection control procedures and ensure adherence throughout the home.
• Support development and implementation of policies in line with regulatory requirements.
• Liaise between residents, families, and staff for resident-centered care.
• Oversee admissions and discharge processes and documentation.
• Assist with budgeting and resource allocation.
• Promote continuous professional development among staff.
