Job summary

RecruitNet International Ltd is currently hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) for a Nursing Home in County Dublin. The role requires leadership of nursing teams and delivery of high-quality resident care.

You will oversee clinical governance, support CNMs and staff, ensure adherence to policies, manage rosters, and liaise with residents, families, GPs, and pharmacies to maintain safe, person-centred care within a committed multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Be registered on the NMBI live register.
• Evidence of ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
• Previous management experience within a healthcare setting.
• Proven track record in clinical healthcare management.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and foster a positive team environment.
• Flexibility and adaptability to evolving needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily clinical operations and ward rounds with GPs and oversee day-to-day clinical care.
• Review nursing documentation to ensure timely assessments, care plans and evaluations.
• Oversee safe medication management in line with guidelines and liaise with GPs/pharmacies.
• Provide leadership, mentorship and hands-on support to CNMs, nurses and care staff.
• Manage induction, training, appraisals, professional development and rostering in collaboration with the Director of Nursing.
• Conduct audits across clinical, medication, hygiene, environmental and safety areas and ensure actions are implemented.
• Act as a key contact for residents and families, manage complaints and support multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Support daily operational management and cover rosters in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
