Qualifications

• Recognised nursing qualification.
• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• Minimum of 3 years' post-registration nursing experience in the care of older persons within the previous 6 years.
• At least 3 years' management experience within a health or social care setting.
• Strong clinical knowledge with an understanding of best practices in older person care.
• Post-registration qualification in healthcare management or a related discipline.
• Management qualification or Higher Diploma in Gerontology is desirable.
• Proven leadership, team management and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Nursing/PIC in providing clinical, operational and professional leadership to the nursing and care teams.
• Oversee and supervise the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care to residents.
• Ensure resident safety through implementation of best practices and standards.
• Promote privacy, dignity, independence and rights of residents.
• Monitor care practices for regulatory and policy compliance.
• Provide clinical guidance, mentorship and support to staff.
• Contribute to quality improvement through leadership and supervision.
• Foster a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to resident care.
