Job summary

Haven Bay Care Centre in Kinsale, Ireland is seeking an Activities Assistant to enhance residents' wellbeing through person-centred programs. You will deliver engaging activities that promote independence, social connection and quality of life in a warm, homely environment.

Working closely with the care team, you will tailor plans to individual interests, involve families, maintain records and ensure safety and safeguarding compliance while providing a friendly, welcoming service to residents

Qualifications

• Experience in activities coordination or elder care.
• Ability to plan and facilitate a variety of activities.
• Strong communication and compassionate approach.
• Respectful, person-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred activities that support residents' physical, emotional, social and cognitive wellbeing.
• Assist in planning and facilitating a varied programme tailored to residents' interests and abilities.
• Encourage participation, promote independence and treat all residents with dignity and respect.
• Work with the multidisciplinary team to ensure activities are safe, appropriate and enjoyable.
• Involve residents and families in developing meaningful activities reflecting life histories and hobbies.
• Maintain accurate records, contribute to activity planning and ensure compliance with health and safety and safeguarding policies.
• Provide a friendly, professional and welcoming service to residents, visitors and colleagues.
