Job summary

Curam Care Homes in Wicklow is seeking a Full Time Activities Assistant to join Knockrobin Hill Care Home on a seven day roster. You will help implement a Meaningful Activity Programme to ensure residents can take part in life-enhancing activities as part of daily life in residential care.

This role supports residents of varying abilities, including cognitive and physical impairments, and requires good IT skills, clear communication, and a team spirit.

Qualifications

• Experience in caring for older people in a residential setting is advantageous.
• Sonas Programme training is desirable but not essential.
• A good level of IT skills is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing the Meaningful Activity Programme for residents.
• Work as part of a team to provide activities seven days per week, including weekends.
• Support residents with cognitive, physical, sensory and intellectual needs during activities.

Job description

We are recruiting a Full Time Activities Assistant (covering 7 day roster) to join our Knockrobin Hill Care Home, Co Wicklow.

The Activities Assistant assists in the implementation of a Meaningful Activity Programme within the home to ensure that all residents can participate in meaningful and life enhancing activities as part of their daily life in residential care. This includes older people with cognitive, physical, sensory and intellectual impairments. This role is part of a team providing Activities to our residents seven days per week so rostered hours would include weekends.

Requirements

• Experience working in Care of the Older Person within a residential care home setting is advantageous.
• Relevant experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided:
• Sonas Programme Course completed is desirable but not essential as training will be provided;
• A good level of IT skills.
• Familiarity of EpicCare platform is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with colleagues and residents;
• Demonstrable skills in cooking, gardening, knitting, music, arts and crafts is desirable.
