Job summary

Haven Bay Care Centre in Ireland's Munster region seeks a part-time maintenance assistant for Saturday and Sunday with flexible weekdays to keep the centre safe, clean and well-maintained for residents and staff.

You will perform general maintenance, routine inspections, safety and compliance checks, gardening, deep cleaning tasks, waste area hygiene and assist with tool operations, always delivering courteous, professional service.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and repairs to ensure the care centre remains safe, compliant and well maintained.
• Conduct routine inspections of the building, equipment, furniture and grounds, reporting and addressing maintenance issues where appropriate.
• Complete scheduled safety and compliance checks, maintaining accurate maintenance records and reporting accidents or hazards promptly.
• Maintain the gardens and outdoor areas, including planting, watering, pest monitoring and general upkeep to a high standard.
• Assist with periodic deep cleaning tasks and ensure waste collection areas are clean, tidy and hygienic.
• Operate hand tools and light machinery safely, following all health and safety and infection prevention procedures.
• Provide a courteous and professional service to residents, visitors and colleagues, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment at all times.
