Job summary

ACCPRO is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to lead a small AP team in a high-volume environment and coordinate the upcoming ERP upgrade. The role reports to the Financial Controller and is hybrid, with 1 day of work-from-home per week after probation.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in AP, supervisory experience, and strong IT skills including Sage and data-visualisation tools. You will drive process improvements and ensure timely vendor payments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in high-volume AP, with supervisory/managerial responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and develop the AP team, allocating workloads and KPIs.
• Oversee full Accounts Payable processes: invoices, approvals, payment runs, postings.
• Maintain creditor ledger, resolve queries and reconciliations.
• Represent AP during ERP upgrade and contribute to requirements.
• Identify process improvements and automation with proper controls.
• Manage supplier relationships and handle queries/escalations.
• Assist audits with documentation and responses.
• Analyse AP reporting and trends for management insights.

Job type: Full-time, permanent

Our client, a leading healthcare provider, is seeking to welcome an Accounts Payable Manager to their team. This is a key role within the finance team which will see the successful candidate reporting directly to the Financial Controller and leading the AP function and team of 3. This role will also play a key part in an ERP system upgrade and will suit an AP professional with a dynamic outlook and experience in a high volume AP environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and develop the AP team by allocating workloads, monitoring KPIs and providing ongoing feedback and support
• Oversee the full Accounts Payable process including invoice processing, approvals, payment runs and accurate and timely posting of invoices
• Take ownership of the creditor ledger ensuring vendor accounts are maintained accurately and queries and reconciliations are resolved promptly
• Act as the key AP representative during an upcoming ERP upgrade, contributing to functional requirements and supporting the successful delivery of the project
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, efficiencies and automation while ensuring appropriate controls and compliance procedures are maintained
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, managing queries and escalations where required
• Support internal and external audits by providing relevant documentation and responding to queries
• Prepare and analyse AP reporting and metrics including GRNI, providing relevant insights and trends to management

Key Skills

• 5+ years experience in high-volume AP environment some of which at supervisory/managerial level
• Strong IT proficiency, experience with Sage and data-visualisation tools is highly beneficial
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proactive, driven and self-motivated with ability to motivate others
