Job summary

Force is recruiting an Accounts Assistant for its expanding transport finance team. Based at the Urlingford depot, the role supports day-to-day finance activities across multiple locations, with travel to Cork as needed.

A full clean driving licence and access to your own transport are required, with mileage expenses covered. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in an accounts or similar role, solid experience with purchase and sales ledgers, bank reconciliations and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role.
• Experience across purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritise workloads.
• Good Excel skills and experience with accounting software (Sage, Xero, SAP, Surf Accounts).

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices across multiple depots, matching with PO and dockets.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve queries promptly.
• Prepare supplier payment runs for approval.
• Raise customer invoices and maintain sales ledger records.
• Issuing customer statements and supporting credit control activities.
• Monitoring aged debtors and following up outstanding balances.
• Posting daily bank transactions and reconciling multiple accounts.
• Reconciling fuel card and credit card statements.
• Assisting with VAT returns, Diesel Rebate submissions and ROS.
• Supporting payroll administration, including the collation of driver hours and timesheets.
• Assisting with month-end processes including accruals, prepayments, journals and preparation of supporting schedules.
• Supporting year-end audit preparation and general finance administration.
• Providing finance support to depot managers and the wider finance team as required.
