Job summary

Blackrock Health Galway Clinic is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join the Finance Department in Galway. The role reports to the Financial Accountant and supports a busy finance team with daily accounts payable and receivable tasks, weekly and monthly reporting, and preparation for year-end audits.

The ideal candidate will have an Accounting Technician or related qualification, strong Excel and ERP experience, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Accounting Technician or business-related qualification preferred.
• Strong business acumen with ability to interface with all levels of management.
• Proven ability to work to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable reporting and other ad hoc duties.
• Accounts Receivable reporting and other ad hoc duties.
• Assist Financial Accountant in weekly reporting, monthly accounts, annual financial statements and audits.
• Assist with statutory returns.
• Maintain and develop financial controls.
• All other duties as assigned.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant in the Finance Department within the Galway Clinic.Reporting to the Financial Accountant the candidate will contribute to the effective and efficient running of a busy finance team

Duties and Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable reporting and other ad hoc related duties
• Accounts Receivable reporting and other ad hoc related duties
• Assist Financial Accountant in weekly reporting, Monthly Accounts, annual Financial Statements and Audits
• Assist Financial Accountant with statutory returns
• Maintain and develop financial controls
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications and experience

• Accounting Technician or a business-related qualification preferred
• High level of initiative, motivation, commitment and professionalism
• Strong business acumen with ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and colleagues
• Proven ability to work to tight deadlines
• Ideal candidate will have 3 years relevant experience
• Experience in a healthcare environment is desirable but not essential
