Job summary

Gerard Kelly & Co. Limited, a long‑standing Dublin-based builders’ merchant and DIY retailer, seeks an Accounting Technician to join the finance team. The role covers bank reconciliations, debtor and creditor ledgers, VAT compliance, and monthly/annual financial reporting.

The successful candidate will bring a degree in accounting/finance, progress toward ATI/IATI or ACCA/CPA/CAI, and proven experience in high‑volume reconciliations with strong Excel and ERP skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• Pursuing or holding ATI/IATI or ACCA/CPA/CAI qualification.
• Experience in financial analysis, internal audit tracking, or high-volume reconciliations.
• Proficient in ERP accounting platforms and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily and monthly bank reconciliations and cash controls.
• Manage debtors ledger, credit reviews, and aging analysis.
• Oversee creditors ledger and supplier reconciliations; monitor rebates.
• Prepare VAT returns and other Revenue filings.
• Lead month-end close, GL journals, and balance sheet integrity.
• Coordinate payroll processing and PAYE compliance.
• Coordinate year-end audits with auditors and governance.
