Job summary

Jones Engineering is seeking a qualified Accountant for a full-time, on-site role at our Pembroke Road headquarters in Dublin 4. You will manage financial transactions, prepare statements, and ensure compliance with accounting, tax and supply chain regulations.

You will report to the European Financial Controller and collaborate with cross-functional teams across the group. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting and ACA/ACCA certification, plus SAP experience and a minimum

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records including invoices, receipts and general ledger transactions.
• Reconcile and balance general ledger accounts.
• Analyse financial data to inform management decisions and support transfer pricing controls.
• Manage payroll activities for relevant jurisdictions (shadow payroll).
• Ensure compliance with accounting, tax and regulatory requirements and work with cross-functional teams.

Job Title: Accountant

Job Description

Jones Engineering are looking to hire a qualified accountant to join our team. This is a full‑time role based onsite at our headquarters in Pembroke Road, Dublin 4. As a Qualified Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, reviewing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting, tax and supply chain regulations. You will also collaborate with cross‑functional teams to provide financial advice and support in decision‑making processes. You will report directly into the European Financial Controller and work closely with the general accounting, tax and accounts payable team.

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including invoices, receipts, payments, and other general ledger transactions
• Reconcile and balance general ledger accounts
• Analyse and interpret financial data to inform management decisions
• Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring adequate funds are available for operational need
• Manage the payroll related activities for relevant jurisdictions (including shadow payroll)
• Manage Tax/VAT returns and payments and other regulatory/compliance requirements
• Review financial results to ensure in line with Transfer Pricing policies
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement financial policies and procedures
• Monitor supply chain within projects to ensure compliance with local regulations
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Manage the audit process for relevant jurisdictions
• Collaborate with HR on Employment Policies and Processes
• Support the set up of new entities within Europe region
• Support management with ad hoc requests as required
• Mentor and coach other team members

For this role you will need

• Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or related field required
• ACA/ACCA certification Required
• Minimum 1 year post qualified experience required
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in accounting or finance role
• Proficient in financial management software, such as SAP
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
