Harmonics Recruitment are looking for a 5-Axis CNC Machinist on behalf of our client based in Shannon, Ireland. The role involves setting up and operating 5-axis CNC machining centres to produce high-precision components for the medical device sector.

You will read engineering drawings, verify programs, perform first-off and in-process inspections, and work with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to maintain ISO 13485 compliance and lean manufacturing practices.

Qualificações

• Apprenticeship or equivalent in engineering required.
• Proven 2–3 years CNC machining experience in precision manufacturing.
• Experience setting and operating 5-axis CNC machines.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of machining parameters and tooling

Responsabilidades

• As a 5-Axis CNC Machinist, set up and operate 5-axis machining centres.
• Load, verify, and run CNC programs.
• Perform tool changes, set offsets, and adjust machines.
• Produce high-precision components to tight tolerances.
• Conduct first-off, in-process, and final inspections.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T.
• Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to optimise processes.
• Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 13485, GMP, and company procedures.

Due to continued growth and investment, we are seeking an experienced 5-Axis CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a well-established precision engineering environment producing complex, high-precision components for the medical device industry.

What You'll Be Doing

As a 5-Axis CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for:

• Setting up and operating 5-axis CNC machining centres.
• Loading, verifying, and running CNC programs.
• Performing tool changes, setting offsets, and making machine adjustments.
• Producing high-precision components to tight tolerances.
• Conducting first-off, in-process, and final inspections.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T specifications.
• Troubleshooting machining and tooling issues.
• Working closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to optimise processes.
• Supporting continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Maintaining accurate production and quality records.
• Ensuring compliance with ISO 13485, GMP, and company quality procedures.

Requirements Essential:

• Apprenticeship or qualification in Toolmaking, Precision Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2-3 years' CNC machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience setting and operating 5-axis CNC machines.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, feeds, speeds, and cutting parameters.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment such as: Micrometers, Vernier calipers, Height gauges
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
